About our Church
The journey to the present began some 36 years ago (1985) as an outstation of Regina Mundi Catholic Church, Mushin and later Christ The King Catholic Church Ilasamaja under the spiritual guidance of late Rev Fr Cusimano SJ who passed on the baton to Rev Fr Ranjit SJ and other Jesuit fathers namely Rev Fr Cyril Latzo SJ, Rev Fr Kwame SJ, Rev Fr David Ogun SJ and Rev Fr Edgar Debany SJ who handed over to our first Parish Priest Rev Fr Pascal Nwaezeapu (now Msgr), in February 2000 when we were elevated to the status of a Parish by the then Archbishop of Lagos, (now Cardinal) His Grace Most Dr. Anthony Olubunmi Okogie. Various Priests have served in the Parish as Parish Priest after Fr Pascal; they include Rev Frs Michael Onwudiegwu, Thaddeus Okafor, Gabriel Iheanacho, Matthew Ogunyase and our present parish priest Very Rev Fr Augustine Okhuelegbe.
Other wonderful priests that have served as associate priests in our parish includes; Rev Frs Eric Anokye, George Anibuike, Anthony Okeke, Simeon Irabor, Gabriel Odunaiya, Wisdom Chikezie, Sebastine Ukwandu, Peter Osuntope, John Oscar Obi and the current associate priest, Rev Fr Frederick Akaajime.
It is also important to mention that our parish was rightly elevated to the status of the seat of the newly created Isolo deanery in February 2014 and has rightly remained so due to the leadership role the parish continues to play among parishes in the archdiocese of Lagos.
For 10 years running, we have been at the forefront of heeding the call for vocation to the priesthood and religious orders as we have always produced either a priest or rev sister every year in the last decade.
Our Parish has also been blessed with the following priests as our sons and daughters; Rev Fr Anthony Nwosu (former Archbishop’s secretary), Rev Fr Jeffery Nwoke SDV, Rev Fr Emmanuel Ehiedu, Rev Fr Samuel Onyiba OP (Registrar Dominican University, Ibadan), Rev Fr Godwin Okoromi OSJ, Rev Fr Chike Ekugbah, Rev Fr Anthony Teko Agbessimme OSJ, Rev Fr Philip Offor, Rev Fr Paul Aransiola SDV, Rev Fr Eustace Diala, Rev Fr Charles Chibogu OP, Rev Fr Michael Okondu, Rev Sr Christiana Onyenuforo OSJ, Rev Sr Fidelia Amune EHJ, Rev Sr Lauretta Idemudia and a host of other seminarians and sisters still undergoing formation.
